Good features, slow support

I signed up for the Time Tracking Software and it's been pretty solid for my team. The Activity Levels feature is helpful for keeping tabs on productivity, and the Desktop App works well. However, when I had a question about setting up Automated Payroll, customer support took almost 48 hours to get back to me. It wasn't urgent, but a faster response would have been better for a critical feature like that. Overall, good value for the price, but there's room for improvement in customer service speed.

Setup was a bit slow

I decided to try Hubstaff for our remote team, specifically for the Automated Payroll and Employee Scheduling. The ordering process for the annual plan was simple enough, but getting everything configured took longer than I expected. The support docs were okay, but I had to reach out to their team for a few things, and it took about a day to get a clear answer. Once it was running, the attendance tracking worked well, and the mobile time tracking is handy for everyone. Just wish the initial setup was more intuitive.

Reliable time tracking

I've used Hubstaff for a few years now for my small team. This last renewal for the Time Tracking Software was just as smooth as always. It's consistent, and the productivity monitoring keeps us on track without much fuss. Never had an issue with billing or access. That's why I keep coming back.

Detailed tracking, decent support

I purchased the Hubstaff platform for my remote team, specifically for their Productivity Monitoring and App and URL Tracking features. The ordering process was straightforward online. Delivery isn't really a thing for software, but access was instant after payment. The Desktop App was easy to download and install on our machines. We found the activity levels and screen recording to be quite insightful, helping us understand where time was actually being spent. I had to contact support once about integrating with a third-party project management tool, and they responded within a few hours with clear instructions. The only minor point was that the initial reports were a bit overwhelming with data; it took some time to figure out what was most relevant.

Easy to get started

I just signed up for Hubstaff's Time Tracking Software for my small team. It was pretty easy to get going, which was a relief. We've only been using it a week, but so far so good. The desktop app was simple to install on everyone's computer. I did have a small hiccup with one of the installs, but it resolved itself.

Good for tracking time

Used Hubstaff for employee timesheets. It worked as expected. Simple interface, got the job done. Setup took about 15 minutes. No real issues, just wish the reports were a little more customizable right out of the box.

Worth the annual saving

I was looking for a good deal on workforce management software and found Hubstaff. I took advantage of their annual billing option, which gave me two months free. That's a pretty sweet saving, definitely made the decision easier. The Automated Payroll feature is what really sold me, streamlining things a lot. It felt like a solid investment compared to paying monthly. The initial setup for payroll was a bit fiddly, but once it was done, it was smooth sailing.

Good for freelancers

I just got the Hubstaff desktop app to track hours for a new freelance gig. It was pretty easy to set up, and I liked how it showed my activity levels. The screen recording feature was a bit weird at first but I got used to it. The whole process felt straightforward, which was nice.

I'm looking at Hubstaff and Time Doctor. Anyone used both and have thoughts on which is better for a small design agency?

S Sam Rivera 1 week ago
I used Time Doctor for a bit then switched to Hubstaff. Hubstaff feels a bit more intuitive for project tracking and the screen recording options are better, imo. Time Doctor was okay but Hubstaff just clicked more for us.

For a design agency, Hubstaff might be better. I found its activity level tracking and integrations pretty good. Time Doctor felt a little clunky in comparison.

Hey, thinking about trying Hubstaff for my small dev team. Is it actually legit for tracking hours and stuff? Don't want to waste time on something sketchy.

S Susan S. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, it's legit. Been using it for a year now for my remote team. Does what it says.

E Ella Phillips 2 weeks ago
Totally legit. My company uses it for all our freelancers and it's pretty good for keeping track of hours and projects. No issues so far.

If I sign up for the free trial, how easy is it to cancel if it's not a good fit? Don't want to get stuck in some auto-renew trap.

A Andrew White 1 month ago
Super easy to cancel the trial. Just go into your settings. They don't make it hard at all.

A Adam Clark 1 month ago
Yeah, I canceled my trial after a week, no issues. No hard sell or anything, just a few clicks.

Do they offer any bundle deals or anything beyond the annual discount? Trying to get the best price for a new team.

J Jacob 3 weeks ago
Sometimes they have seasonal promos around like Nov/Dec, I think. But the annual discount is the main one I've seen consistently.

You could also check if they have any new user discounts or referral credits. I got a little off when I first signed up through a link.

can you stack coupons on hubstaff? got a promo code but also wanna do the annual thing for the discount.

J James Thompson 3 weeks ago
Pretty sure you can't stack them. Usually, it's one or the other with these kinds of services, afaik.
3
L Lisa Garcia 3 weeks ago
I don't think they allow stacking. You usually pick the best discount you have. The annual one is often the biggest anyway.

Does Hubstaff do anything special for non-profits? I'm helping out a small charity and we're super budget-conscious.

M Mary Wilson 4 weeks ago
I'm pretty sure they have a non-profit discount. You should check their site or contact support directly.

C Chris T. 4 weeks ago
Yeah, I remember seeing something about non-profit pricing. Definitely worth asking them before you sign up, could save you a bit.

Anyone know how to get that '2 months free' deal? Is it just when you sign up for a year or what?

A Andrew Garcia 2 weeks ago
It's usually with annual billing. Saves you a decent chunk of change over the year.
6
L Lisa Ramirez 1 week ago
Yeah, you pay for the whole year upfront and they basically give you two months for free compared to the monthly cost. It's a good deal if you plan on sticking with it.

What kind of payment options does Hubstaff take? Just credit cards or like PayPal too?

L Lisa Torres 2 weeks ago
Pretty sure they take major credit cards. Don't remember seeing PayPal, but I might be wrong.
3
J Jacob S. 2 weeks ago
I've always paid with a credit card, so can confirm that works. You'd have to check their FAQs for other options, but credit card is definitely a go.
